Anthropology System

Each year the Anthropology Department at California State University, Chico has a six-month exhibit portraying a different topic. For the Valene L. Smith Fall 2014 exhibit they wanted to create a poster and invite system that corresponded with the upcoming exhibit: Leaping Lemurs and Mysterious Crimes on the Trail of Physical Anthropology. The client wanted the system to visually entice viewers to attend the event while staying away from the anthropology clichés. When creating this system, I strived to achieve a delicate balance between avoiding disciplinary stereotypes all while showing that the exhibit was in fact distinctly anthropological.
